Description: Absolutely wonderful Paleo Lerma Blade made of modeled, black stained and polished orange Coastal Plains Chert. It sits in my mind as one of the best relics I have ever offered. Magnificent- at 6 3/4" in length. The flaking screams; " Ancient Early Man. " The flaking pattern defines the man who created this piece of art. He had amazing skill and experince as a knapper. Collaterally knapped with perfectly placed and repeated Over Shot flaking. All along the edge of the blade shows very detailed shallow pressure flaking extending up to 1/2" in from the blade edge. Thin and symmetrical with very straight blade edges. It is so finely made and so long it makes me wonder if it was a sacrificlal offering.
