Description: Complete and whole Big Sandy. These are Proto Archaic in age are amoung the first notched point types after the Paleo Era. (dating to 9500 BP). Judging from the size of the base, this was an enormous spear at one time. As it went thru the various stages of resharpening, the symmetry was perfectly maintained. The wide drooping base tangs are heavily ground as is the wide notches. All the blade edges are beveled sometimes called four way beveling.
