Description: Most fossils from the Cretaceous Time Period are found in what is called the 'Black Belt' A geographic formation that extends from the Low Country of South Carolina all the way thru Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi below the Piedmont or Fall Line and contains a lot of Marine fossils. Mosasaurs were a Carnivorous Marine Reptile. Basically, a large Crocodile looking creature with flippers. As to their teeth, it is pretty rare to get one out of Georgia and even rarer still to get one patinaed this light tan color. The tooth is basically complete and is in amazing condition considering how old it is.
