~ G-10 Dale County Alabama ~ RARE ~ Escambia Dalton ~ RARE
Length: 2"
Grade: 10
Description: Heavily patinated cream colored Coastal Plains Chert ESCAMBIA DALTON. These are among the rarest of all the Dalton types identified in John Powells book; "Points and Blades of the Coastal Plains" Not to be confused with the more common Chattahoochee Dalton. The base ear are tucked inwards on the Escambia types. The base and lateral edges are heavily ground smooth up to the first serrations. The serrations are simply beautiful. This is the best example I have ever seen or held!
Provenance: Found on private property with permission in Dale Co. Alabama. Found by Phillip Napper in the Ozark city limits in a small creek.
