Description: A complete and solid Strap Handle Pottery Bowl. Dating from the Mississippian Era 1300 -1400 AD. This one features eight handles, which not only enhance the the vessel's appeal, but also served a functional role. The handles allow the pot to be suspended on a wall or post using cordage, combining both artistry and practicality. On the underside of the vessel, there is a small area of surface loss that occurred naturally during the original firing process. This is a typical feature in Mississippian pottery and does not affect the integrity, or display value of the piece.
