~ Restored South Georgia Adze ~
Length: 5 1/4"
Grade: 5
Description: One base corner was hit by a plow and has been professionally repaired (see last picture). It is thick deliberately so as to serve the purpose of being an adze. Patination and flaking are at least Early Archaic, if not Paleo. Proof of it's use as an adze can be seen by examining the grinding and smoothness on the base and up to the middle of the blade edges. Better in the hand than the pictures show.
Provenance: Found on private property with permission Lee Co. Georgia
