Description: This Shell Tempered Pot was found many years ago in the Tennessee River Valley. Middle Mississippia Culture Pottery vessel with a globular shape. Features protruding 'Nodes', 4 in the cardinal directions. Less than 20 percent has been restored on the rim. Light orange to grey buff colored with a lot of crushed shell imbedded in it. Rare to find any complete pottery in the deep south.
Provenance: Found many years ago on private property with permission in Jackson Co. Alabama Lake Guntersville. Found in the 1940's.
