Description: This Shell Tempered Pot was found many years ago on the Tennessee River Valley. Middle Mississippian Culture Pottery vessel with 'Acorn Shaped' bottom. This is a jar form, with a flared lip. Features 'Finger Nail Ticking' just below the rim. Less than 15 percent has been restored mostly near the bottom. Rare to find any complete pottery in the deep south.
Provenance: Found many years ago on private property with permission in Jackson Co. Alabama Lake Guntersville. Found in the 1940's.
