2 3/4 Paleo Coastal Plains Clovis

Description: Classic Paleo flaking with one side having the 'Step Down' basal thinning strikes while the other side has 2 parallel fluting strikes running up the base over 1/2". The base and lateral edges near it are ground smooth as a baby's butt 3/4" up from the corners of the base. Has a tiny impact fracture at the tip that only shows from one side. Made from a light-yellow fossiliferous Ocala Chert. Nice Clovis for a good price.

Provenance: Found on private property with permission in Gilchrist Co. Florida. Found in the early 1970's, Santa Fe River Basin
